Poster Guidelines

A poster session will be held on 17 March 2010. All participants of the Annual Meeting including students of the AGS universities are welcome to report their latest research results and educational and outreach activities toward global sustainability.
Accepted abstracts will be offered a slot in the poster session.

 

Important dates

Monday, 1 February 2010: Deadline for submission of poster abstracts
Tuesday, 16 February 2010: Notification of acceptance
Wednesday, 17 March 2010 (early morning): Poster registration and set-up
Wednesday, 17 March 2010 (18:00-20:00): Poster viewing and presentation
Thursday, 18 March 2010 (No later than 15:00): Poster removal
Friday, 19 March 2010 (plenary session): Best poster awards

 

Instructions for Poster Abstract Submission

Authors are requested to submit their poster abstracts online by 1 February 2010 (http://www.ags2010.org/posters.html). Posters can be submitted under the following nine topics:

1. Energy and mobility in urban areas
2. Pro-poor urban futures: addressing urban poverty in developing countries
3. Sustainable building and construction
4. Challenges for business and politics
5. Urban ecology and natural resources
6. Urban design and sustainability / visions of future cities
7. Education for sustainability
8. Student activities for sustainability
9. Food and water

 

Notification of Acceptance

Contributions will be reviewed for relevance, quality, and adherence to the guidelines. Authors will be notified of acceptance/non-acceptance by 16 February 2010. Authors selected to present their posters during the AGS annual meeting should prepare a full size version of their poster (A0 or similar). Accepted poster abstracts will be printed in an abstract book.

 

Poster Registration, Format and Set-up

Authors should register their poster at the conference registration desk on the morning of 17 March 2010. Each poster will be assigned a numbered panel in the display area on the first basement level of Economics Research Building where the conference will take place. The size of one panel is 90 cm×120 cm, and posters should not exceed this size. Participants viewing the posters should be able to read the content from a distance about 1.5 m (5 ft). The recommended poster font/text size is 120pt for the title, 70pt for headings, and 50pt for text. Poster content, text and color graphics must be prepared as one poster and printed on recycled paper (if possible). Display panels and poster pins will be provided by the organizers of the poster session.

 

Poster Sessions

Authors are requested to be present during the special sessions for poster viewing and presentation at 18:00-20:00 on Wednesday, 17 March.

 

Best Poster Awards

During the poster viewing session, a jury including representatives from MIT, ETH, UT and Chalmers, will evaluate the posters. Best posters will be selected and the winners notified Wednesday evening. The winners of the best poster award will be announced at the plenary session on Friday, 19 March, at which time winners will be asked to give a brief oral presentation explaining their poster (3 minutes - NO POWERPOINT SLIDE WILL BE NECESSARY).

 

Poster Removal

No later than 3:00 PM on Thursday, 18 March all posters should be removed from the panels. All posters or other materials left in the poster area after this time will be recycled.
